Volunteer
Information
Due to the nature of our organisation all
volunteers must undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check prior to commencing their
placement with us.
Volunteers must be over 14 years old. Volunteering
at Lords House Farm is a rewarding and vital support mechanism to
enable our dedicated team of staff to support the community with our
work.
There is
a range of volunteering opportunities in a variety of subjects. In
particular we always need volunteers to come and assist with our
riding therapy sessions, Tuesday to Friday afternoons.
This
involves leading and side walking with our specially trained horses
and ponies. Other opportunities involve working alongside our
special needs students in a support role in the animal care unit,
assisting in our horticulture unit and general maintenance jobs.
Training is given to
all volunteers as well as opportunities for personal development,
complimented by a mentoring scheme. Volunteers are awarded
certificates through internal recognition schemes and nationally
recognised awards, such as the AQA unit award scheme, which can be
included on your CV to support future employment.
As well
as the huge sense of satisfaction you receive from helping our
groups there is also a social side to volunteering. You can meet new
friends and join in with volunteer events and outings.
