These
programmes produce astounding results on an ongoing
basis and impact on a range of difficulties across
all age ranges.
Children and adults experience both physical and
mental improvements via the partnership with horses
and ponies – self-esteem, confidence, social skills,
new friends plus, fresh air, fun and exercise are
all benefits seen each time they ride.
A recent addition over the last few years has been
the introduction of horse riding for the very first
time to people of 60 years and over, by the
Blackburn with Darwen Health and Fitness programme.
Our oldest rider being 72, and who won the award for
'Most Dedicated Rider', at our awards celebration
held in February 2005.
This programme is supported by
Lancashire Children's Fund, and is offered to
elegible children living within the Lancashire area
at a subsidised rate. If you think your child may be

The riding therapy sessions are offered in the
afternoons (weekday only) and on Wednesday and
Thursday evenings.
