Riding Therapy

These programmes produce astounding results on an ongoing basis and impact on a range of difficulties across all age ranges.

Children and adults experience both physical and mental improvements via the partnership with horses and ponies – self-esteem, confidence, social skills, new friends plus, fresh air, fun and exercise are all benefits seen each time they ride.

A recent addition over the last few years has been the introduction of horse riding for the very first time to people of 60 years and over, by the Blackburn with Darwen Health and Fitness programme. Our oldest rider being 72, and who won the award for 'Most Dedicated Rider', at our awards celebration held in February 2005.

This programme is supported by Lancashire Children's Fund, and is offered to elegible children living within the Lancashire area at a subsidised rate. If you think your child may be eligible, or for more information on subsidised sessions please contact the centre here.

The riding therapy sessions are offered in the afternoons (weekday only) and on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
