Riding Lessons

On Saturdays we offer riding lessons to the general public at novice and intermediate level for a number of reasons.

Firstly the donations received from the riders’ supports the work we undertake with the less able and disadvantaged riders who donate only a nominal amount towards therapy sessions supported by Lancashire Children’s Fund.

Secondly, it is vital to the horses and ponies that they are stretched mentally and physically on a regular basis to prevent boredom and to sustain fitness. The slower work during the week is not enough to address this need.

Lords House Farm is also keen to promote integration of able and less able riders and to ensure that the charity is perceived as an organisation open to all the community and is not exclusively for those with a need or disability.

We usually have a short waiting list for places on our lessons. Please apply for a Riding Pack that will give you all the information you need to begin your lessons with us. Horse riding is a brilliant form of exercise and many ‘new’ riders, young and old, have benefited from weekly lessons. Lessons can be accessed through your GP in some cases as part of a health related exercise programme. Consult your GP for further details.

Hats, Boots & Jodhpurs are available to purchase on site.
