Adjoining
the land at Lords House Farm is a secluded woodland
originating from an old quarry with a wealth of
local history attached to it. It is a geological
SSSI (Site of Specific Scientific Interest), as it
has a 300 million year old fossilised tree root in
it's rocky cliffs.
Lords House Farm conducted an extensive renovation
programme in 2004 and it now has a lovely woodland
pathway leading to a boardwalk facing the tree root
and it's interpretation board.
The nature reserve is open to the public and car
park and toilet facilities are available from 9.00am
to 5.00pm at Lords House Farm.
There is a spectacular vantage point giving views
across the land at Lords House Farm, and a picnic
bench is available for those wishing to take
advantage of it's tranquillity for a while.
This area is also used in our Llama Trekking
programme and has a number of environmental teaching
packs written around a variety of activities
including Orienteering.
