How do I make a donation to the Charity?

You can donate on line using Paypal or by adopting one of our animals on line or by post. Alternatively, you can send a cheque or if funds have been raised by a group you can come to the centre to formally hand over the funds raised or ask for a member of our management team to attend a venue to accept the donation.

Is there any way I can Help?

There are many ways in which people can help – either in a practical way by volunteering or by fundraising. Donating suitable horses and ponies or rare breed animals is also a way to support our work or by adopting an animal or pony on a yearly basis. Sponsoring a riding therapy place or the cost of caring for one of our horses for a year is another way that you can help and this is particularly popular with local businesses and groups of people.

The facilities are first class, does this mean the charity has enough money to operate?

The charity has grown from a derelict old farm to the excellent state-of-the-art facilities you see today through determination, hard work, innovation, vision and the generous support of funders and grants over the last 12 years. The charity operates by way of short term grant funding which is not ideal and although it is financially stable cannot operate on anything less than sound business principles to ensure financial planning is always at the forefront of its long term plans.

Who formed the charity and why?

The charity was founded by Mary Walker, the current Chief Executive, based on a desire to raise the quality of life for people in need through the use of horses, animals and the natural environment. The charity was developed on Christian principles – hence the name ‘Lords House Farm’ but is open to anyone from any background and does not make reference to its philosophy in any of its activities.
