House Farm offers a range of courses in partnership
with Accrington & Rossendale College. These
opportunities are ideal for students who prefer a
quieter, more person centred approach to learning as
classes are small and the possibility of one-to-one
support is available where necessary.
NPTC Agricultural Animals:
This is an entry level course offered to students
with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum
disorders. The course covers basic animal husbandry
of a practical nature, using our own animals on
site. A range of life skills using the concept of
hygiene, personal needs, social development and
health and safety of the animals, to emulate human
needs has proved an effective method of imparting
understanding of these principles. This forms a very
important part of the curriculum.
